Treat Yo' Self

Sorry to leave you guys hanging for so long! It's been a crazy month, dear readers. I do have some good news, though! After months of hard work and interviews, I have been promoted to a new position within my organization! I'm hoping that this new position will leave me with more time, energy, and funding to continue working on this wonderful blog.

I haven't yet decided how I'm going to treat myself in honor of this new stage in my career. I was originally thinking of getting a new tattoo or piercing, and this is something I still want to do, but it may have to wait, depending on some other factors. Namely -- time, money, availability of the artist I want, and the timing of Burning Flipside next month.

I am a firm believer in treating yourself every now and then, so here are a few items I have my eye on!

Jane Iredale's Magic Hour Spring 2014 Makeup Collection

Oh. My. Gosh. Have you seen these colors? I'm so in love with gold right now, particularly for Spring. And that peachy-pink highlighter? Gorgeous. While I regularly buy makeup, I wouldn't typically indulge in this many full-size products at once. I like the Jane Iredale products I've tried so far and I'm getting a little bored of so many loose eyeshadow powders. There happens to be a store right around the corner from my apartment that carries Jane Iredale, so I may slip away to snatch up this collection sometime soon...

Chantecaille Save the Bees Palette

This palette is ridiculously expensive and I can't help but love it! It includes two eye shadow shades, a blush, and a beautiful golden highlighter. Can you see the gold pattern yet? I also love the fact that 5% of the proceeds from this palette go to The Xerces Society to help protect bees and their habitats.

RMS Beauty Glowing Gift Set

They call this a "gift set" and I sincerely hope that no one actually expects me to give it away. I think I may be the only green beauty blogger in existence who hasn't tried any RMS Beauty products yet (or Kjaer Weiss, or Alima Pure... sigh) because I'm just too stingy. This may be the ideal opportunity to check out some of these amazing products. I'm thinking of the Smile and Magnetic colors.

Imaginary Authors Falling Into the Sea Eau de Parfum

I fell in love with this perfume at last year's Renegade Craft Fair but didn't buy it due to the hefty price tag. Also, I was distracted and forgot. The scent is beautiful -- bright and citrusy with a hint of ocean florals. I'm also endlessly entertained by the concept behind these scents. Perfume inspired by the often gloomy lives and works of make-believe novelists? Sign me up.

Michelle Change Jewelry Snake Tail Ring

This is another item I've had my eye on for a long while. I like to support individual artisans and smaller shops, often via Etsy, and this snake ring caught my eye ages ago. I love snakes and there's something about the simple design of this ring that really appeals to me. It also comes in sterling silver, which I could opt for instead of the brass.

Silver and Sage Jewelry

Another gem (heh, I'm hilarious) that I spotted at the Austin Renegade Craft Fair. This amazing shop has a huge array of malas, mini malas, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings to choose from. I absolutely swooned over several of their mini malas, so maybe it's time to give a more thoughtful gift to myself.

That's what I'm thinking for now! Other options include an iTunes shopping spree and lots of new DIY ingredients... If you could treat yourself to one gift that you wouldn't normally purchase, what would it be?
